According to information obtained by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Abolfazl Rostami and Erfan Moradi Dangi, two residents of Qasr-e Shirin, have each been sentenced to five years of discretionary imprisonment by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of this county.
These sentences were issued under the charge of assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national and international security, bringing the combined sentences of both citizens to ten years in prison. The court session reviewing the charges against them was held in August 2026 at Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Qasr-e Shirin.
Abolfazl Rostami and Erfan Moradi Dangi were arrested in Qasr-e Shirin by operatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Intelligence Organization on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in connection with the nationwide protests of January 2026. Following several weeks of detention and interrogation, they were granted temporary release on bail pending the conclusion of their legal proceedings.
Published reports regarding their period of custody indicate that both individuals were subjected to intense psychological pressure and severe physical violence.
At the time of this publication, no information is available regarding any appeal filed by either individual against the verdicts or the transfer of their cases to the court of appeals.
