According to information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights, Nosrat Khaledi, a prisoner sentenced to death and held in Orumiyeh Central Prison, was transferred on July 28, 2026, to Seyyed al Shohada Hospital in that city following a severe deterioration in his physical condition, and died a short time after arriving at the medical center.
According to information received by Hana, Nosrat Khaledi suffered from severe cardiac pain during the three days preceding his death, but despite repeated requests for him to be sent to a hospital, his transfer was delayed. According to informed sources, he died approximately ten minutes after being transferred to the hospital.
Nosrat Khaledi, son of Hossein, from the village of Sanji in Orumiyeh County, was married and the father of five daughters, one of whom has a disability and lacks the ability to walk. He had been sentenced to death in connection with narcotics related charges and, through legal counsel, had appealed the issued verdict. According to available information, he had no prior history of heart disease and suffered only from a kidney ailment.
