According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Mehdi Roshani, a political prisoner from Malekshahi county in illam province and a member of the Bawlag tribe, has been sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic.
According to informed sources, Mehdi Roshani was arrested by security forces in January of last year and subjected to interrogation after being transferred to a security detention center. Following months of detention and undergoing judicial proceedings, he has been issued a death sentence.
As of the preparation of this report, judicial and security authorities have not released any details regarding the charges brought against him, the branch issuing the sentence, the judicial process of the case, or the current condition of this political prisoner.
