According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Thursday, June 11, 2026 (21 Khordad 1405), border guard forces opened fire on a group of kolbars (cross-border porters) in the border areas of Baneh, resulting in the serious injury of a young kolbar.
According to the report, Naseh Khodari, a 28-year-old married man and father of one child, sustained severe injuries after being struck by a bullet in the leg. He was immediately transferred to Salahaddin Ayoubi Hospital in Baneh for medical treatment.
Hana Human Rights Organization expresses its deep concern regarding the continued targeting of kolbars in border regions and considers this incident to be part of a broader pattern of serious human rights violations and the lack of legal protections afforded to kolbars.
The organization calls for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation into this incident and urges that those responsible be held accountable in accordance with human rights principles and international standards.
