Moulavi Abdulaziz Omarzahi Arrested by Security Forces in Zahedan

HANA Human Rights Organization has learned that on the evening of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Moulavi Abdulaziz Omarzahi, a Baluch citizen, Sunni religious activist, and former instructor at Darululoom Makki in Zahedan, was arrested by security forces in the city and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Moulavi Abdulaziz Omarzahi had previously been arrested by security forces in the aftermath of the events known as Zahedan’s Bloody Friday and during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising. Following that arrest, he was also barred from continuing his educational activities and teaching at Darululoom Makki in Zahedan.

According to this report, during his previous arrest, identity documents including his national identity card and those of several family members were seized by security agencies, and his family faced restrictions in accessing administrative and public services.

At the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him.
