According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, more than 45 days after the arrest of Farideh Ketabi Miandoab, a 50-year-old resident of Orumiyeh, there is still no information regarding her whereabouts, physical condition, or the status of her legal case.
Ms. Ketabi Miandoab was arrested by security forces at her private residence on the evening of Thursday, March 26, 2026, and was transferred to an undisclosed location.
Her daughter, Sareh Sedighi, an LGBTQ+ activist, told Hana that security forces entered her mother’s home without presenting a judicial warrant and used violence during the arrest.
According to Ms. Sedighi, her mother suffers from diabetes, and the deprivation of medication and medical care poses a serious threat to her health and life. She further stated that during this period, her mother has been denied her basic rights, including the right to make phone calls, meet with family, and access legal counsel.
The Hana Human Rights Organization considers the continued lack of information regarding Farideh Ketabi Miandoab’s location to be a clear case of arbitrary detention and short-term enforced disappearance, expressing grave concern for her safety and well-being.
Hana demands the immediate disclosure of her place of detention, a guarantee of access to medication and medical services, the right to contact and meet with her family, access to independent legal representation, and full compliance with her legal and human rights.
