The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Thursday, 8 January 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Adel Tahmasbi, a resident of Karaj and originally from the village of Borbor in Bojnord County, was killed during popular protests in Karaj as a result of direct live gunfire by the Islamic Republic’s security forces.
Adel Tahmasbi was married and the father of three children.
