According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Morteza Yaghoubi, 41 years old, married, the father of four children, a Kormanj Kurd from Esfarayen, lost his life during popular protests in this city as a result of direct fire with live ammunition by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to received reports, the body of this Kurdish citizen was laid to rest on January 11, 2026, in his birthplace, the village of Naghiyabad in Esfarayen.
