Soleiman Shokri, a 29-year-old from Bukan, was fatally injured during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Jina Amini. On November 17, 2022, near the beginning of Saheli Street in front of “Pesare Khoob Café,” he was directly shot in the head, face, and neck with pellet rounds and beaten with batons by Iranian security forces. After three days of hospitalization, he died on November 20, 2022, at Imam Khomeini Hospital in Orumiyeh due to the severity of his injuries.
It is worth noting that security forces demanded 90 million tomans from his family in exchange for releasing his body. Due to the family’s financial hardship, the people of Bukan raised the amount, which was then paid to the IRGC Intelligence in return for the body.
