Bahaedin Veisi, a 16-year-old from Javanrud, was shot and killed on November 20, 2022, during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Jina Amini. He was fatally struck by live ammunition fired by Iranian security forces in the city.
That same night, his older brother, Najm-edin Veisi, was also wounded and abducted by government forces. He was later forced, under pressure from security agencies, to make coerced confessions against himself.
Bahaedin Veisi’s funeral was held on November 21, 2022, with the participation of thousands of people at the “Haj Ebrahim” cemetery in Javanrud, where mourners chanted protest slogans.
It should be noted that during the funeral, Iranian security forces opened fire on the crowd with DShK heavy machine-gun rounds.
