At Least 9 Kurdish Citizens from Orumiyeh have been arrested by IRGC Intelligence Forces

According to the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at least nine Kurdish citizens were arrested by forces from the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The identities of these citizens have been confirmed by Hana Human Rights Organization as Ahmad Golestani, Mohammad Golestani, Behzad Golestani, Mohsen Golestani, Ehsan Golestani, Mehran Golestani, Farzad Mostafazadeh, Hamid Mostafazadeh, and Shoresh Mostafazadeh, all residents of the village of “Nojavan” in the Somay-ye Bradost district of Orumiyeh County.

According to Hana’s sources, these nine citizens are members of two families and are all brothers and cousins.

Reports indicate that the arrests were carried out by IRGC intelligence forces with severe beatings, after which the detainees were transferred to one of the security detention centers affiliated with the IRGC Intelligence Organization in Tehran.

It is worth noting that, as of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges against them, or their current condition. Their families have also been denied visitation rights and have not been informed of their exact place of detention.
