Sardar Shahmoradian was released from Sanandaj prison on bail.

Based on received reports, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, Sardar Shahmoradian, a resident of Sanandaj and one of the detainees from the Zhina revolutionary movement, was released from Sanandaj prison after posting a seven billion toman bail.

Sardar Shahmoradian, a 29-year-old student from Sanandaj, was arrested during the Zhina revolutionary movement on January 1, 2023, at his workplace, where he was beaten and detained by security forces. According to received reports, the IRGC's Intelligence Organization stated in a declaration that Sardar Shahmoradian, along with three other citizens named Keyvan Zandkarimi, Houshang Chahargorge, and Aram Azad, were arrested in connection with the murder of a police officer.

Informed sources say that Sardar Shahmoradian was subjected to severe torture and interrogation at the IRGC's detention center, where he was forced to make a false confession against himself. It is noteworthy that the torture was so severe that during his first court session, several months later, the judge, noting the signs of torture, referred him to the forensic medical examiner.

During a family visit, visible injuries included a broken hand, leg, and thigh, as well as bruises on his body and face, and blackened toenails. According to this report, security agencies had informed the families of these prisoners that their children were charged with "enmity against God and participation in the murder of a security officer," and the families were pressured not to disclose these matters.

Sardar Shahmoradian had only one court session held against him on April 13, 2024, and no information is available regarding the charges against him. However, he was taken out of prison to reconstruct the crime scene.

The report also states that there is no sufficient evidence or documents proving the involvement of these individuals in the alleged murder, and the security forces sought to fabricate cases against them through forced confessions and pressure on the prisoners and their families. It is worth mentioning that for several months after Sardar Shahmoradian's arrest, the court did not allow his family to appoint a private lawyer, except for a court-appointed attorney.

Keyvan Zandkarimi and Aram Azad were released from Sanandaj prison on billion-toman bails.
