According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Mitra (Rozhan) Moradveisi, a Kurdish asylum seeker in Turkey, has been held for approximately five months at the Ağrı Deportation Removal Center in Turkey.
According to information received, Moradvisi is a Kurdish civil rights activist who faces an imminent risk of deportation to Iran.
Due to her civil rights activities, Moradveisi would face serious security-related charges if deported to Iran. Her return would also expose her to serious risks, including immediate arrest by security agencies, severe physical and psychological torture to extract forced confessions, and harsh judicial sentences, including lengthy prison terms and potentially the death penalty, placing her life at serious risk.
The Hana Human Rights Organization expresses its grave concern over the fate of Mitra (Rozhan) Moradveisi and states that it has sent separate letters to Turkey’s migration authorities and government officials, calling for the immediate suspension of any deportation proceedings against her.
