According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, Alijan Tiatrej, a Yarsani citizen from Kermanshah, died of electrocution while working.
According to a source close to HANA, Tiatrej, who worked as a sign maker, was electrocuted on the job, and despite efforts to save him, he did not survive.
His death once again highlights the toll of unsafe working conditions and the weak enforcement of safety standards in Iranian workplaces, conditions that continue to put workers’ lives at risk and that lead to preventable, fatal accidents year after year.
