The Ongoing Wave of Executions of Baluch Citizens Continues Another Prisoner Executed in Birjand

In the early hours of Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the death sentence of a Baluch citizen identified as “Younes Barahuei Zirkar” was carried out at Birjand Central Prison.

According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, Younes Barahuei Zirkar, son of Amrollah, was executed while no precise details regarding the charges against him or the judicial process of his case have so far been published by judicial authorities or state media. Reports indicate that the prisoner’s body is scheduled to be buried on Wednesday.

In another report, coinciding with the implementation of this execution in Birjand, another Baluch prisoner identified as “Abdoljalil Shahbakhsh” was also executed in Zahedan Prison. Hana Human Rights Organization had previously reported on the execution of this prisoner.

Hana Human Rights expresses serious concern over the escalating wave of executions in Iran, particularly the systematic execution of Baluch citizens and other national minorities. Hana emphasizes that the lack of judicial transparency, the deprivation of prisoners from the right to a fair trial, and the absence of official information regarding these executions constitute a clear violation of international human rights standards.
