The number of women arrested in connection with March 8 has reached four

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Monday, March 10, 2025, security forces arrested Sohaila Motaei, a civil and women’s rights activist from Sanandaj.

On the same day, Leila Pashaei, a women’s rights activist from Saqqez, was also arrested by security forces in Sanandaj.

According to received reports, these arrests took place following the activists’ participation in a ceremony commemorating March 8, International Women’s Day.

Hana’s sources indicate that the arrests of Leila Pashaei and Sohaila Motaei occurred without judicial warrants and at their private residences.

It is worth noting that in the past 24 hours, at least four women’s and civil rights activists have been arrested and transferred to unknown locations.
