The body of Keshvar (Shirin) Golmohammadi, a woman from Saqqez, was found in a hotel in the city, HANA Human Rights Organization reports.

Information verified by HANA indicates that she had been experiencing marital problems with her husband before her death. Some local sources have raised the possibility that she was killed, though HANA has not yet independently confirmed this claim, and is documenting the case as a suspicious death pending the outcome of official investigations.

No responsible authority has so far offered any official account of the cause, manner, or circumstances of her death. According to informed sources, officials have said only that a final determination of cause of death awaits a forensic medical opinion.

While extending its condolences to Keshvar (Shirin) Golmohammadi’s family and loved ones, HANA Human Rights Organization stresses the need for a prompt, thorough, independent, impartial, and effective investigation into this suspicious death. HANA calls on the competent authorities to examine every aspect of the case, including the possibility of murder, while preserving all evidence and observing proper legal procedure. Establishing the truth, informing the family and the public transparently, and identifying and holding accountable any perpetrator, should a crime be confirmed, are essential to achieving justice and ending impunity.
