On Sunday, January 03/2021, a group of peddlers staged a protest rally in Azadi Square and Ferdowsi Street in Sanandaj.
Ferdowsi Street is a place where some people have resorted to peddling due to unemployment, but recently the contract for this street was handed over to the Revolutionary Guards, and this government agency no longer allows people to peddle.
The reason for the gathering of peddlers in these 4 days is the dissatisfaction with this action of the Revolutionary Guards.
According to news sources, these peddlers, have chosen this job due to unemployment, and the regime itself is the main cause of unemployment in Kurdistan.
A source familiar with the matter told the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization of Iran that the regime’s military forces in the city of Sanandaj are on high alert and may escalate into violence if these civil gatherings continue.
Discriminatory laws, lack of support for production and job creation, poverty and misery in Kurdistan, as well as the violent and repressive treatment of any civil protest, are just a summary of the regime’s policy towards the people of Kurdistan, which results in sheltering people in high-risk jobs such as Kulbari and It is for sale.
