According to information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights, the dormitory of the “Shahid Motahari” Boarding High School for Boys, in the town of Zarrineh, in Divandareh County, has, since February/March 2026, coinciding with the start of US and Israeli military attacks on Iran, been turned into a base for military forces.
The continued presence of these forces in the dormitory has deprived students, most of whom enrolled at this school from villages and areas surrounding Zarrineh, of the ability to use the boarding facility. These students are now forced to travel daily between their homes and the school, a situation that has disrupted their studies and commute.
Before the deployment of military forces, the dormitory of this high school, given its boarding nature, housed students who came to Zarrineh from surrounding areas and villages to continue their education.
It is worth noting that Hana had previously published a report on the deployment of military forces at a school in the city of Baneh and their continued presence within that educational setting.
