According to information made available to the Hana Organization for Human Rights, Khebat Fadaei, an artist from the village of Buridar, in Sarvabad County, was detained by security forces on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in front of his place of residence in Marivan.
According to informed sources, the agents presented no judicial warrant at the time of this artist’s arrest, and detained him and removed him from the location using violence. It has not yet been established which agency or detention facility Khebat Fadaei was transferred to following his arrest.
Since the time of his detention, no information regarding his condition has been released, and no details are available concerning the possibility of contact with his family or his access to legal counsel. Likewise, the reason for his detention and the possible charges brought against him have not been specified.
This is not the first time Khebat Fadaei has faced detention and judicial prosecution. He was previously detained in Tehran on September 24, 2022, at the same time as the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, and was transferred to Evin Prison following interrogation. He was eventually released on bail, on a temporary basis, on November 14 of that same year.
Following the judicial proceedings in Khebat Fadaei’s earlier case, Branch One of the Varamin Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ashkan Ramesh, sentenced him to a combined total of six years of Ta’zir Imprisonment. Under the issued verdict, five years of this sentence were imposed on the charge of “membership in groups and associations with the aim of disrupting national security,” and an additional one year on the charge of “propaganda activity against the system.”
