According to a report received by Hana’s colleagues; On Sunday April 17, 2022, Houshang’ Reza’i temporarily ended his strike after 12 days, with the authorities promising to consider and announce the outcome of his case in a month and a half.
Houshang Reza'i, a political prisoner at Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, announced a strike on April 9, 2020, refusing to eat food, water and medicine because of the involvement of security agencies in the judicial process, and was subsequently transferred to the security ward of Rajai Shahr Prison.
Houshang Reza'i, 37, from Nahavand, was arrested in Tehran on January 19, 2009 on charges of collaborating with 'Komala', and was detained in solitary confinement for six months and transferred to Evin Prison Ward 350 under duress and flogging.
The trial of this prisoner was held in two sessions after his arrest without the permission to introduce a designated lawyer in the presence of a substitute lawyer in the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
He was eventually sentenced to ten years in prison and death sentence on charges of Moharebeh through "collaborating with the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan", "participating in rallies", "carrying weapons and leaving the country illegally".
He was deported to Rajai Shahr Prison on April 20, 2012و and transferred to Ward 209 again on June 26, 2022. The case was acquitted, and then his death sentence was reduced to 25 years in prison by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Moghiseh, after nine years in prison.
Based on the verdict issued by The court, he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for infringement and 8 years for possession of weapons and illegal withdrawal from Iran to two years and a total of 25 years in prison, and according to Article 135 of the aggregation of sentences, the sentence applicable to this political prisoner is 15 years, which should have spent another six years in Iran's prisons by counting the detention days.
