Deterioration of the Health Condition of Political Prisoner Ehsan Rostami at Evin Prison

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that Ehsan Rostami, a cultural activist from Harsin County in Kermanshah Province, is experiencing a deteriorating physical condition due to epilepsy and complications affecting his ear and head.

Ehsan Rostami was arrested by security forces in Tehran on August 20, 2025. Subsequently, in December 2025, he was formally charged with baghi (armed rebellion) at Branch 5 of the Prosecutor’s Office for General and Revolutionary Affairs in Tehran and was then transferred to solitary confinement.

According to information received, Rostami’s physical health problems include dizziness and severe headaches. Reports have also emerged indicating the possibility of a cyst in his head and changes in his brain condition.

Given Ehsan Rostami’s epilepsy and other physical health problems, access to specialist examinations and appropriate medical care tailored to his condition is essential.
