According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, early Monday morning, May 25, 2026, the death sentence of a prisoner identified as Abdolqader Rasouli, a resident of Mahabad County, was carried out in the central prison of the city.
Based on obtained information, Mr. Rasouli had been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the completion of his trial proceedings.
Furthermore, the prisoner’s family was granted their final visitation with him at Mahabad Central Prison on Sunday, May 24, 2026, one day prior to the execution.
