According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, 10 days after the arrest of Vahed Soltani, a 21-year-old citizen from the village of Khoranj in Piranshahr, there remains no precise information regarding his condition, fate, or whereabouts.
Based on the received information, security forces raided the family residence of this citizen without presenting a judicial warrant and proceeded to arrest him. Since his detention, Mr. Soltani’s family has been completely deprived of any information regarding his location, physical and legal status, and the grounds for his arrest.
As of the time of this report, no official agency has assumed responsibility for his detention, and no details have been released concerning potential charges, his place of holding, or the judicial processing of his case.
Expressing deep concern over the ongoing lack of information regarding the fate of Vahed Soltani, the Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that depriving detainees of the right to contact their families, access legal counsel, and be informed of their legal status constitutes a violation of the fundamental principles of a fair trial, domestic laws, and the international obligations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Consequently, Hana demands the immediate disclosure of Vahed Soltani’s status and whereabouts, the guarantee of unhindered access to a lawyer and his family, and full adherence to legal rights throughout all stages of his detention and judicial proceedings.
