Arrest of a Kurdish journalist to carry out the sentence

Hana: At 11 pm on May 21, 2021, Morteza Safi Haqbeyan, a Kurdish journalist from Sanandaj, was arrested in his private home to serve his sentence.

 

He was previously sentenced in Branch 104 of the Sanandaj Criminal Court to 2 and a half years prison, 90 lashes and a fine of 10 million Tomans for criticizing the performance of Kurdish officials, publishing government documents.
The condemnation of this critical journalist followed his activity in the Telegram channel Amak (disclosure of the performance of Kurdistan managers), which was active in Kurdistan for two years in 2017.
He was also previously sentenced to three months suspended imprisonment in Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj on charges of propaganda against the regime.
Morteza Hagh Bayan was detained by the Sanandaj Police Intelligence Department for 80 days in 2019.
This sentence was announced for Shahram Amjadian, another defendant of Amak Channel, and the other defendants attributed to Amak Channel were acquitted in different stages of interrogation and trial.

It should be noted; He was notified of this sentence in the Sanandaj Branch 104 Criminal Court on August 03, 201st 21.
