According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Tuesday, August 24, 2026, a worker identified as Biston Zarei, originally from the village of Ziran and residing in Javanrud, lost his life after falling from a height.
Based on received reports, the worker fell from the third floor of a building while working, sustaining severe injuries that resulted in his death.
This incident once again highlights the state of workplace safety and the ongoing violation of workers’ rights. The lack of standard safety equipment, the absence of effective supervision over the implementation of technical protection regulations, and the disregard for safety requirements in work environments are among the primary factors contributing to fatal accidents for workers.
The continuation of such incidents occurs while ensuring workplace safety and protecting the lives and health of the workforce are fundamental responsibilities of employers and relevant authorities. The recurrence of these events demonstrates a weakness in enforcing safety regulations and the inefficiency of regulatory mechanisms in guaranteeing workers’ rights to safe and standard working conditions.
