21-Year-Old Kolbar Killed by Direct Fire From Islamic Republic Border Forces in Qatur

Rasoul Ghalandari, a 21-year-old married kolbar and father of two, was shot dead by border regiment forces in the border heights near the village of Baljouk in Qatur on the evening of Wednesday, July 22, 2026, according to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization.

Sources close to HANA say border forces opened fire on a group of kolbars without warning, leaving Rasoul Ghalandari badly wounded. According to the same sources, officers then approached him as he lay unable to move or defend himself, and shot him several more times in the head.

HANA states plainly that this kind of direct gunfire against kolbars amounts, as a matter of law, to an arbitrary use of lethal force and a systematic violation of the right to life.
