According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, more than 300 nurses and healthcare workers in Kurdistan Province held a protest gathering outside the Governorate building in Sanandaj.
The protest was held in response to livelihood difficulties, problems with payments, and the management of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences. The protesters called for their professional demands to be addressed immediately and for improvements to their working and economic conditions.
Participants in the gathering raised their demands and protested the continuing financial difficulties, as well as the current situation regarding the management and payment practices affecting healthcare workers.
