According to published information, on Sunday and Monday, August 23 and 24, 2026, Sanan Farasati and Rahman Azarakhsh, two citizens from Oshnavieh, were arrested by Intelligence Department forces. With the arrest of these two individuals, the number of detained citizens in Oshnavieh in recent days has reached at least four.
Sanan Farasati was arrested on Sunday, August 23, by Intelligence Department forces. Early the following morning, Rahman Azarakhsh, a 49 year old citizen from the village of Sofian in Oshnavieh county, was arrested at approximately 4:00 AM after Intelligence Department forces raided his home. Based on available reports, the entry of the security forces and his subsequent arrest created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.
The Hana Human Rights Organization previously reported the arrests of Sa’doun Dastari and Moloud Roosta, two citizens from the village of Hasan Noran in Oshnavieh. Moloud Roosta was released on bail a few hours after his arrest, but according to the latest available information, Sa’doun Dastari remains in custody.
