According to published information, on Sunday, August 23, 2026, Amin Naseri, a 27 year old Kurdish artist and singer from Asemanabad, in Chardavol County, illam Province, was targeted by direct gunfire after approximately eight months of being pursued by security agencies, and, wounded in the leg and lower back, was detained and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to available reports, security forces blocked this artist’s route with several vehicles and opened fire on him in the course of the detention operation. After Amin Naseri was struck by gunfire and wounded, security forces detained him and removed him from the scene.
Amin Naseri had previously been detained in connection with the January Protests, and, according to published information, has been pursued and sought by security agencies for approximately the past eight months.
As of the time of this report’s publication, Amin Naseri’s place of detention and his physical condition following the gunfire are not known. Nor is any information available regarding his access to medical care, the agency responsible for his detention, or the possible charges brought against him.
