According to information received by the Hana Organization for Human Rights, Nariman Farhadi, a teachers’ union activist in Khuzestan, is facing judicial proceedings on charges of “disrupting national security” and “propaganda activity against the Islamic Republic,” and has been summoned to appear in court on August 16, 2026.
The case will be heard in Branch 106 of Ahvaz Criminal Court Two. The summons was issued pursuant to a judicial notice; however, as of the time of this report’s compilation, no information has been made public regarding the specific conduct attributed to him or the evidence underlying these charges.
Nariman Farhadi is a union activist in the education sector. The filing of cases against union activists under security charges, particularly in connection with peaceful activities, raises concerns regarding the right to freedom of expression, association, and the free pursuit of union demands.
