Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that more than 32 days after the arrest of Shahram Ghabal, a citizen from Mahabad and resident of Miandoab, he remains in a state of legal limbo with his fate shrouded in uncertainty.
An informed source told Hana Human Rights Organization that following inquiries made at the court of the Deputy Prosecutor, Branch 3, under Hojat-ol-Islam Yazdani, the family was informed that a two-month detention order has been issued for Mr. Ghabal.
According to the court, the status of his case will only be determined after this period expires.
The source added that although the case has been referred to the court, the judicial process has been marked by irregularities. Allegedly, certain decisions regarding the case have been made even before the completion of due process or a final trial.
Shahram Ghabal, born in 1978, is married and the father of two children. He was arrested by security forces on March 18, 2026, at his personal residence without a judicial warrant and was subsequently transferred to Miandoab Prison.
Notably, since his arrest, he has been denied fundamental rights, including access to a lawyer and the right to contact or meet with his family.
