According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in recent days Sheikh Zahid Shahabi, a resident of Saqqez, has been arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Sources informed Hana that Mr. Shahabi’s arrest was carried out without the presentation of any judicial warrant.
It should be noted that since his arrest, no information has been made available regarding his whereabouts or the charges against him.
Sheikh Zahid Shahabi had previously been arrested during Nowruz ceremonies in Kurdistan and was later released temporarily from Saqqez Prison after two months in detention upon posting bail.
