Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Saeed Torvand, 33 years old, from Mehran and a contractor working for an oil company in Abadan, lost his life after being directly shot by repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the city’s popular protests.
According to Hana’s sources, the body of this victim was handed over to his family after five days, and only under threats and the imposition of written commitments on the family.
The body of Saeed Torvand was finally laid to rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in his hometown, Chalab village.
