January protests / Yasin Elahi was killed after being directly shot by repressive forces in Tehran

According to the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Friday evening, January 9, 2026, an 18-year-old Kurdish teenager identified as Yasin Elahi, from Abanar village, affiliated with Abdanan County in illam Province, lost his life after being directly shot during popular protests in Tehran by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to an informed source, on Friday evening, January 9, Yasin Elahi was shot in the chest with live ammunition from a Kalashnikov rifle by repressive forces during popular protests at Dowlatabad Second Square in Tehran and was killed.

It is worth noting that the body of Yasin Elahi was buried at Ibn Baboya Cemetery in Ray, a city affiliated with Tehran.
