Ako Mohammadi lost his life during the protests in Qeshm

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that Ako Mohammadi, a 22-year-old Kurdish youth from Salas-e Babajani, Kermanshah Province, and a resident of Qeshm, lost his life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, during popular protests in Qeshm after being directly shot by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It is noteworthy that after killing this 22-year-old, the security and repressive forces abducted his body and placed his family under extensive pressure and threats, demanding a payment of one billion tomans for its release. Ultimately, the Mohammadi family was forced to pay this amount, and Ako Mohammadi’s body was returned to them on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
