Shoresh (Soleiman) Niknam, 34 years old and from the “Qaleh Joghah” village in Mahabad county, was shot in the left flank by Iranian regime security forces on November 17, 2022, during the nationwide protests sparked by the state killing of Zhina Amini in Mahabad. He was taken to Seyed al-Shohada Hospital in Orumiyeh, where he passed away ten days later, on November 27, 2022, due to the severity of his injuries.
Shoresh Niknam was married and the father of a daughter.
His funeral was held on November 28, 2022, under a heavy security presence.
