According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, Bahram Majdifard, a resident of the village of Rajan in the Margavar region of Orumiyeh County, has been sentenced by Branch 6 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh, presided over by, Judge Najafzadeh to a total of 10 years in prison.
According to this report, Mr. Majdifard was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and 6 years and 8 months on charges of “membership in a Kurdish opposition party.” However, the court has suspended the 6 years and 8 months sentence for a period of three years.
A source familiar with the case told Hana that Bahram Majdifard was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture by Islamic Republic security forces during his detention, in order to extract forced confessions.
He was also denied access to legal representation and other basic legal rights during his arrest and detention.
