The secret execution of Kurdish political prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou at an undisclosed location, without informing his family

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Kurdish political prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou was secretly executed on April 21, 2025, without his family being informed, and at an undisclosed location.

Reliable sources have confirmed that the news of his execution was communicated to the family via a phone call from the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh. However, no information was provided regarding the exact time or place of the execution, nor the return of his body to the family. As of the time of this report, his body has not been returned, raising serious concerns about a covert burial without the presence of family members.

Fars News Agency, affiliated with the IRGC, has also confirmed the execution in a brief report, but has not disclosed any details about the case or the exact date of execution.

Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou was arrested by security forces last year and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh on political charges that were never publicly clarified. His trial did not meet international fair trial standards, and reports indicate he was subjected to pressure and torture during detention to extract forced confessions.

The Hana Human Rights Organization strongly condemns the secret execution of this Kurdish political prisoner as a clear violation of human rights and a continuation of the systematic repression of Kurdish political activists. The organization calls on the Iranian judiciary to take responsibility for this execution and to clarify the fate of his remains.
