According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Sardar Seyyed Abdollahi, 19, a native of Gazgask village in Piranshahr County, is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence at Orumiyeh Central Prison. He has so far served nine months of his sentence.
Sardar Seyyed Abdollahi was arrested on March 31, 2025, by forces from the Piranshahr Intelligence Department and was subsequently transferred to the Orumiyeh Intelligence Department for interrogation. He was held for 45 days in solitary confinement at security detention facilities in Piranshahr and Orumiyeh before being transferred to the political prisoners’ ward of Orumiyeh Prison.
After spending approximately six months in security detention facilities and Orumiyeh Prison, the citizen was sentenced by the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court to 18 months of Ta’zir imprisonment on charges of cooperating with one of the Kurdish parties.
According to the information received, Sardar Seyyed Abdollahi was denied temporary release and access to a lawyer throughout his detention. His family was also denied phone calls and visits with him. These restrictions continued during his interrogation and throughout the judicial proceedings.
According to reports received, no evidence was presented against the citizen during his interrogations by the Piranshahr Intelligence Department, and the sentence against him was reportedly issued based on a complaint filed by a complainant.
Sardar Seyyed Abdollahi was granted his first period of temporary leave in recent weeks. Following the end of his leave, he was returned to Orumiyeh Central Prison to continue serving his sentence.
It is worth noting that Sardar Seyyed Abdollahi was serving his mandatory military service at the time of his arrest.
