Hana Human Rights Organization: On Sunday June 12, 2022, Social security retirees took to the streets in Ilam, Kermanshah, Sanandaj and Naqadeh, along with other retirees across the country.
These protests have been going on continuously in the cities of Iran for 6 days and are spreading day by day.
Among the demands of social security retirees is the full implementation of the law of equalization and comprehensive and efficient insurance in accordance with Article 54 of the Social Security Law.
It should be noted; In recent days, following the spread of the pensioners' protest, the government has started campaigning for a 57.4% increase in pensions, but according to the government decree, this increase only includes the organization's minimum wage earners, and other wage levels have only increased by 10%. It should also be noted that this 57% increase in the minimum wage of the recipients will eventually increase their salary to 5,580,000, which is still very different from the living expenses in 2022.
