At 6 am on Tuesday October 8, 2019, the security forces raided the house of Masoud (Naib) Hajizadeh in Urmia, searched the house and confiscated his mobile phone, without any judicial warrant, arrested him and beat him. He was then transferred to one of the security detention centers and finally on Thursday, October 24, 2019, after the interrogation was completed, he was transferred to Urmia prison.
Massoud (Naib) Hajizadeh, in a five-minute trial that did not even have the right to speak and defend himself, meets with four other citizens, Keyvan Rashozadeh, Omid Saeedi, Kamran Qasemi, Abdolaziz Mohammadpour, for the first time in court who have not even had any prior knowledge of each other, a joint case against them is being filed and an outrageous sentence is issued by Judge Ali Sheikhlo.
He was initially sentenced to 10 years and one day in prison by the Orumiah Revolutionary Court on the charge of "membership in the Komala Party", and the sentence was ultimately reduced to seven years and six months imprisonment on appeal.
When he was arrested, he had an operation where platinum was put in his feet in the first surgery and in the second surgery, platinum was supposed to be removed from his feet, which was not allowed to be sent to the hospital by prison officials.
Under pressure from international and human rights organizations on the judicial authorities and the Uromieh prison, the second surgery was finally performed on June 2, 2021.
After the second surgery, they refused to send him to the hospital and the prison clinic and deliver any medicines, causing severe infection in his leg.
Following the torture, the political prisoner faces a rupture in the internal abdomen, which, under pressure from human rights organizations on judicial authorities and Urmia Prison, will be transferred out of prison for initial tests and treatment, after the results of the tests reveal that he will be operated on from the abdomen and foot as soon as possible.
But the prison officials, in complete disbelief, transfer him to prison again and ask his family for a deposit of 4 billion in order to transfer him to the hospital.
From the very beginning, Urmia prosecutor had issued a bail request of one billion two hundred million tomans to send Massoud on leave, which was met with strong opposition from the security institutions, the judge overseeing the prison, and Urmia prison officials, and finally, in early June 2021, with the pressure of the human rights organization Those who were against the freedom of Masoud (Naib) Hajizadeh, have agreed to a bail of one billion two hundred million tomans. The bail is too heavy and his family is not able to provide such bail.
