Execution of Six Arab Prisoners in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz

Hana Human Rights Organization – At dawn on Saturday, October 4, 2025 (12 Mehr 1404), the judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency reported the execution of six Arab prisoners identified as Ali Mojdam, Mohammadreza Moghaddam, Moein Khenfari, Habib Deris, Adnan Ghobishavi, and Salem Mousavi in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.

According to received reports, these prisoners were sentenced to death on February 14, 2023 (25 Bahman 1401) by Branch 4 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on charges of “killing members of the Basij and police forces” and “collaboration with Israel.”

The six Arab political prisoners were accused in court of belonging to the “Harakat al-Nazal” (Arab Struggle Movement) and of allegedly killing, in separate incidents, two Basij members — Ali Salehi Majd and Younes Bahr — in Abadan, a police officer named Allahnazr Safari, and a conscript soldier named Mohammadreza Rafii-Nasab in Bandar-e Imam Khomeini.

In March 2023 (Esfand 1401), they were forced under severe torture to confess to “foreign currency transfers through an international bank, armed attacks,” and having ties to the Harakat al-Nazal political group. Their families repeatedly stated that these confessions were obtained under coercion and torture, and therefore hold no legal validity.

It is noteworthy that the judicial proceedings in the case of these six Arab political prisoners failed to meet the minimum standards of a fair trial and were conducted without free access to legal counsel of their choice.
