Zanyar Abubakri, a 22-year-old from Mahabad County, was killed on October 27, 2022, near the Simorgh Roundabout in Mahabad, after being shot directly with live ammunition by the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini.
It is worth noting that Zanyar Abubakri had become engaged in the summer of 2022 and was scheduled to hold his wedding on November 16, 2022. He was tragically killed by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran just 20 days before his wedding.
