Saman Rahmani, a 28-year-old man from Tekab and a resident of Tehran, was arrested on November 11, 2022 during the nationwide protests against the state murder of Jina Amini while writing protest slogans in Qaleh Hassan Khan, Tehran. During his arrest, he was severely beaten on the head with multiple baton strikes by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and was killed as a result of the assault.
Two days later, on November 13, 2022, his body was buried under strict security measures and without being washed according to Islamic rituals in the Sharifabad Cemetery in Tekab.
Security forces blocked access to the cemetery and removed his funeral announcement from local channels.
