Omid Hassani, a 20-year-old from the Paygolan village in Sarvabad County and a resident of Sanandaj, was arrested on 17 November 2022 during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Jina Amini in Sanandaj. He was taken by the Islamic Republic’s security forces to the 12 Farvardin Police Station, where he was subjected to severe torture and heavy beating with batons. While unconscious from the assault, he was transferred by the security forces to Towhid Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
It should be noted that Omid Hassani’s body was buried on 18 November 2022 at “Behesht-e Mohammadi” cemetery in Sanandaj in the presence of his family.
