Mostafa Shabani, a 45-year-old resident of Bukan, was shot on 17 November 2022 during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Jina Amini. Near his home, he was struck in the chest by live ammunition fired amid heavy shooting by the Islamic Republic’s security forces. He was critically wounded and, after being transferred to Qolipour Hospital, died from the severity of his injuries.
It is worth noting that Mostafa Shabani suffered from a severe mental health condition and was killed at close range by direct fire from government forces.
