Mohammad Hassanzadeh, a 28-year-old man from the city of Bukan, was shot and killed on November 16, 2022 during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Zhina Amini in Bukan. He was targeted by live ammunition fired by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
After Mohammad Hassanzadeh’s killing, security forces at Qolipour Hospital told his father to go home and not make a scene. However, his close friend Shahriar Mohammadi removed his body from the hospital to prevent it from being seized by security forces, and he was eventually buried the following morning.
It should be noted that one month prior to his death, Mohammad Hassanzadeh had lost one of his eyes due to being hit by three pellets. He underwent surgery three times in Tabriz and Tehran, but his eye remained blind.
