Karwan Qader-Shokri, a 16-year-old from Piranshahr, was critically injured on November 19, 2022, during the nationwide protests following the state killing of Jina Amini. He was shot directly by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic in Piranshahr and died the next day, on November 20, 2022, due to the severity of his injuries.
It should be noted that Karwan’s funeral was held with a large public turnout, where mourners chanted protest slogans.
During the ceremony, Karwan Qader-Shokri’s father said:
“As a father of a martyr, I am grateful to all Kurdish people, to our sisters and mothers. When this beautiful hero was born, I named him Karwan—‘the caravan of martyrs.’ And now, once again, I offer him as a caravan of martyrs. I hope one day we will avenge all our martyrs.”
