Freydoun Mahmoudi, 32, married and father of one, from Saqqez, was among the first victims in Saqez. On September 19, 2022, during a protest against the state-sanctioned killing of Jina (Mahsa) Amini in front of the city’s Grand Mosque, he was shot dead by special security forces.
